We have a long-standing tradition of hospitality in the Simms family and have gathered the knowledge and traditions of three generations to create something we hope will be a special place for you and your family. As a kid, I treasured my time spent enjoying the Rocky Mountains and now, more than ever, I cherish the time I get to spend there with my family. I’ve always wanted to find a way to share that small mountain town vibe. Inspired by unplanned adventures, an enduring love of food and fireside conversations, Lazy Dog was created to do just that.
We have sourced ingredients from places and farmers we love and respect. Each ingredient we use is carefully picked and prepared. We make every meal by hand each day, including all of our sauces, marinades and dressings. Chad, who began his culinary journey in Columbus, Georgia, has spent nearly two decades honing his skills in Florida kitchens from West Palm Beach to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Now Co-Owner of Won-Tom’s and Executive Chef at Papa’s Raw Bar, he’s built a reputation for fearless creativity and bold flavor combinations.
Troy, a lifelong resident of Lighthouse Point, was born into the restaurant business. As the founder of the Eat Drink and Be Local® movement and part of the family behind Papa’s Raw Bar (established in 1976), his approach blends community, coastal culture, and an infectious love for hospitality.
Together, in 2023, they launched Won-Tom’s — a vibrant concept located in Deerfield Beach’s Cove Shopping Center. Sharing space with the Cove Brewery, the eatery serves up Caribbean-Asian (or “Crasian”) fusion with a rebellious edge.
